Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is an anime based on CD Projekt RED's video game ' Cyberpunk 2077'. This anime is distributed by Netflix and animated by studio Trigger.
Cyberpunk:Edgerunners is one of the best animes that released in 2022. This anime is a treat to our eyes and music is marvelous.
STORY
If you know about the game cyberpunk 2077, you might have an idea about the world in which it is set in.
It is a futuristic world where the society is so developed in science and technology. You can implant or replace body parts, can travel to moon on vacations, health systems are topnotch like etc. Only if you have the money.
The barrier between rich and poor just expanded in this world. Most of the people are poor. There is no value or safety for human life, there is no peace , there is no protection . Basically it is a dystopia overrun by corruption, crime, and cybernetic implants.
The protagonist is a teenager named David Martinez. He is a student of a highly elite academy named Arasaka. Even though David was poor his mother wanted him to have a corporate job and good education. Because he is poor David faced a lot of bullying .
The sudden incidents that occured in his life turned his life upside down.
CHARACTERS
David Martinez: David is smart , intelligent and good looking. He was a good student also. But everything changes and he has to deal with extreme situations .
David has a good charecter design , it is eyecatchy, and charecter development is well done.
Also voice actor did a good job.
Lucy: Lucy is the one who invites ,or is the reason David ended up in the criminal world of night city. She is a night runner.
This character is soo cool. Her design and character are awesome. Voice acting is also good.
Maine: He is the leader of Edgerunners that David ended up joining in. Maine is like an elderbrother to David.
Rebecca: One of my favourite character is Rebecca. She is a loli and kind of crazy. Rebecca is good with guns, and the character is soo cool. I loved her. Voice acting was good.
There are a lot of characters in this anime.. everyone's design and voice acting are very good. Every character has their own personality and role in this anime.
ANIMATION , SOUND , AND THINGS LIKE THAT
The animation is top notch and fantastic. This series has a different approach towards the art work and i loved it. It is good for the cyberpunk theme.
The colouring, the fight sequences, the detailings .. everything was soo good. It is basically a feast for the eyes.
Music in this anime is soo good. songs are amazing and how they blended the bgm s,the scores, the songs in with the anime is marvelous.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is basically a treat to eyes and ears.
OVERALL
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is one of the best anime that released on 2022. It excels in everything.
Even though this anime streams on Netflix it has very less censoring in it like Voilence, gore, nudity, bloodshed, and a lot of language. That is why it is beautiful.
I heard that the studio and Netflix were in an argument about the character Rebecca, Netflix wanted to remove her because she was loli. But the studio insisted " the loli stays". (Netflix's double standard )
We will like every characters. I especially loved Rebecca and the relationship between David and Lucy.
Towards the end some viewers said that it will be emotional.but I didn't felt anything.
But this anime is awesome..please give it a try..
