Bocchi The Rock

 Bocchi the Rock is One of the best anime that released in 2022. It is adapted from the manga authored by  'Aki Hamaji'  and CloverWorks Studio executed this beautiful anime.

This anime belongs to slice of life , comedy , musical genre and has 12 episodes in first season , and it started airing on october 9 th 2022 and aired till december 25 th of 2022. The Direction is done by Keichiro Sato  and Music is by Tomoki Kikuya.

I was not a big fan of Slice of life , musical genre combination anime, but bocchi the rock blew me away and I absolutely loved it . It was very entertaining and engaging and it has awesome characters and  hilarious comedy in it.

Each episode is better from one another and I never got bored of it.

 

STORY

Hitori gotou , our protagonist with the nick name of ' bocchi' is the main attraction in this anime, the name 'bocchi ' means alone or lonely . As the name mentions she was very lonely from her childhood , she didn't had any friends. it is  because Bocchi has severe social anxiety issues . But she did crave for friends who accepted her.

Bocchi was gifted with musical powers and thought if she become a 'rock star ', it might help her make friends and  Bocchi started to learn guitar . and she also has a  dream to do a live performance with a rock band .

Because Bocchi has social anxiety issues, Bocchi started to make songs and solo-guitaring videos online in the fake name of 'Guitar Hero' and she gained a lot of fans and followers too. 

Bocchi was very awkward , gloomy and lonely in school , but a girl named Nijika Icchiji  requested her to join in  her band which was named 'Kessoku Band' as a supporting Guitarist , and that changes Bocchi's  lonely life into something beautiful.

At the start the 'Kessoku Band' had only three members Nijika the Drummer, Ryoh Yamada the Bassist and Bocchi the new supporting guitarist, and their base was Nijika's sisters Nightclub. Later on in the story Ikuyo Kita joins the band as the Vocalist and thus completing the band members .

and thus This story says the marvelous things happening in the life of Bocchi .

 

CHARACTERS

As I mentioned before   Hitori Gotou aka Bocchi is the main character in this anime. She is a cute, unique, and well defined character.

She is a fantastic and I loved her. Bocchi has severe anxiety and an overthinking problem.

 The only interesting thing in bocchi's lonely socially awkward life is  guitars ,musics and songs . 

actually it is very funny to watch Bocchi, she is very entertaining and her thought process is something else. they shows it in the anime , the way she thinks and behaves, it's good.

More than that Bocchi is an awesome guitarist and a singer , and I can relate to her in so many levels.  Even though it is in a slow pace she tries to solve her problems and  is becoming very closer to achieving her dreams.

Then the other main characters are Nijika Ichiji, Ryoh Yamada and Ikuyo Kita.

Nijika is the drummer in the band and she is the one who introduced Bocchi to the Kessoku Band. And Nijika's Sister helps the band to become something good. Nijika is an active and enthusiastic person , and she is kind of a leader in the band.

Next is Ryoh Yamada, Ryoh is definitely an Introvert , she is the bassist and Kind of the cool one in the band and also tomboyish too. 

and then there is Ikuyo Kita, Kita is the exact opposite of Bocchi, she is an extreme extrovert , and is very active and enthusiastic in everything, As the vocalist in the band she has a beautiful voice and she learns to read guitar too.

I loved all of these main characters , all of them are cute and has their own personality , and their friendship is very pleasing to watch. They all balance out each other in a way.

There is not so many characters in this anime , but there are some mentionable  characters  like Nijika's sister Seika , Kikuri Heroi , Bocchi's Mom,Dad , little sisterand Dog.

All the characters are quite simple and relatable.

ANIMATION ,SOUND & THINGS LIKE THAT

Cloverworks had done an amazing job in executing this anime, The animation has it's own standard. It has a good flow to it , and the beauty and quality of the animation is very recognizable.  They have tried different types of art styles and animations in the anime and it was very satisfying .

Because this anime belongs to the musical genre , music have a very good significance here. The intro song, the outro song and all the musics done by Kessoku band was very pleasing and enjoyable, especially the songs performed by the band. 

The Background Musics, Sound tracks and scores too was very good. 

The story sometimes suddenly transitions into one scenario to another , But with the introduction  appropriate Background Scores , the sequences became more engaging to me. overall The sound department was totally awesome.

Then the Voice acting , it was just amazing , i felt the chemistry between the voice actors and they had done a marvelous job.  Especially Sayumi Suzushiro who did the VA for Bocchi and the VA of Ikuyo Kita  , who is Ikumi Hasegawa , She also sang many songs in this anime, Her voice was beautiful, and i loved it,

The direction of Keichiro Sato was good, I felt like each episode was getting better and better. Also the story is in a fast paced manner  so I never felt bored.

 

OVERALL

In my overall Perspective , Bocchi the Rock is One of the best tAnime that released in 2022.  It has a very good rating and popularity than the Chainsaw Man which was released along side this anime, So Bocchi the rock became quite famous around the world and it had a hype to it. But the number of people who had watched chainsaw man is far exceeding than Bocchi, But we i can't compare these two anime, both exceeds in their own way and I loves both of them. 

At first I was very reluctant to watch Bocchi The Rock , because it belonged to the musical genre, it was just not my type. But one day I decided to give it a try , I watched first 2 episodes in two days , but in the third day I completely got hooked on to it, and binged the whole season .

It was very entertaining and engaging to me, it also had very good humor , awesome musics and songs , fantastic animation, and more than that awesome characters , it was totally  fully energetic.

When i watched Bocchi the rock It delivered a freshness and relaxing feel to me , and the anime is completely stress free. All of this made me fall in love with this anime.

And i wanted to say this thing that , in this anime they doesn't emphasizes on cuteness, we will naturally feel the characters are cute. The characters are that much likable. and also they haven't introduced any shitty romances in it, and i like that too. The girls in this anime have a goal and they strive to achieve it .

If i have avoided it thinking it is a musical genre , i might have missed out on this amazing anime, In overall I loved this anime

And if you want to watch an anime with only 12 episodes  which has awesome animations, musics , story, and characters which delivers a fully energetic, entertaining vibe, Bocchi The Rock will be the anime that I recommend.
