I enjoyed this anime ❤️. It was fun to watch it.
The reason i saw this one was it's manga was good selling and it got suggested so many times in Netflix . And i really wanted to fill the void that left by " the big bang theory" by watching something. And i was in that mentality. Even though it wasn't as the same level as big bang theory , this anime was entertaining and relaxing.
Story
A man named Satoru Mikami of age 37 was living his normal life in Tokyo. He was normal and his life was perfect. He got a good job , good house, good money and a peaceful life with no unusual and thrilling twist in life. But he lacked a girlfriend, and he was okay with it .
One day when he was visiting a colleague He was stabbed to death by a stranger with no reason. At the time of his death he thought about many things, about his life, the things he couldn't do, the things he wished to do. There was a sound like a computer in his head ordering and executing commands. This system formed some commands and executed it.
When he felt the new sourroundings ,He was in a new world, a magical world. The sound was still in his mind( like Jarvis : iron man's operating system). He was born as a slime. A being with no body parts and only one body.With the help of the system he found out about the world he is in, the special prowess he has and the magical traits. As a slime he has the ability to absorb and digest all the things and to own the special skills of the things he absorbed, this prowess is known as Predator skill, and he can make things and mimic things etc.
He gets trapped inside a cave, and while traveling through this cave he comes to contact with a powerful dragon who was entrapped by some hero ages ago. He then becomes friends with the lonely dragon. And inorder to save the dragon from his prison he suggests to absorb the dragon including the magical prison.
In this world the lowly monsters have no name. Getting a name is like leveling up and becoming a new powerful being. The dragon and slime names them self , before the slime absorbs the dragon. Slime names the dragon
' Tempest' and gets himself a name ' Rimiru Tempest'. Them he absorbs the dragon and continues to escape to the outer world from the cave.
While traveling through the cave Rimiru attacks and absorbs several monsters and attains their skills. He manages to escape from the cave.
Then he meets several monsters, saves or befriends them,And creates his own village where every monsters can live together.
Characters
The main character is Rimiru Tempset, The slime. This is an over powered character. He can mimic different forms but mainly seen in his original form. Later he becomes a human form ( rest of the story). Also there are several other characters from different species , like orcs, ogres, goblins, wolfs,humans, dwarfs,pixies, etc. But there is only few characters that we will remember.
Rimiru , Shizu, Milliam etc are some good characters. Almost every character lacks indepth character development, eventually everyone becomes the M.C 's friend as of first season. Some of this characters have touching back stories. Almost all characters are peaceful minded. And there is no character I feel like the villain.
Animation & sound
Animation is good, not boring. Especially the actions scenes are nicer, and the special effect sound are cool.
Overall
Even though there are no memorable moments in this anime it is quite enjoyable. And I really enjoyed it.
I felt like some scenes didn't deliver the impact they supposed to mean.
Because of the over powered main character , in the end everything is peaceful and happy.
The story is in a fast pace.
The world building is enjoyable.. i like how Rimiru develops his little Country.
Till now there is only 24 episode from 1 season.
Available in Netflix.
If you want something not so complicated, relaxing, and enjoyable give it a try.
