THE LEGENDARY MOONLIGHT SCULPTOR - MANHWA

 

 The legendary moonlight sculptor is a very entertaining manhwa which was authored by HeeSung Nam and it is a Korean webtoon or manhwa.

This manhwa is adapted from his own  light novel .

It belongs to comedy, action,adventure, fantasy genre and is very fun to read.

Even though the light novel is complete ,as of today the manhwa is in hiatus.

STORY

Lee Hyun is a man in his youth who lost his father and mother in his early age and is now living with his little sister and grand mother. He had to dropout of high school in order to provide for his family and he did many part time jobs.

Lee Hyun was an excellent Pro gamer who excelled in an MMORPG game called continent of magic. Because of the sorry state he was in , he decided to sell his top tier character from the game in an auction.It would be helpful if he get any money from the sale. Lee Hyun has only the thought of money in his mind, he would do anything for money.

But for his surprise his character got auctioned for a whooping 3 billion 90 million won . Even though  he became a billionaire over night he will get fooled.

Lee Hyun's father had a debt, and the lender deceives Lee Hyun  and takes away 3 billion won saying about a 50% interest rate  with ease.

Because of this incident Lee Hyun decides to make more money by playing  the newly popular Virtual Reality Online Multi Player game called 'Royal Road'

Royal Road is a very advanced VR game , and it is played in a  capsule like thing . He goes by the name 'Weed' in the game .

While clearing the quests in the game he stumbles upon a secret class named 'The legendary moonlight sculptor'. But that class was considered very ordinary and basic, and nobody gave a damn about the sculptor class.

As the story progress we will get to know how will the sculptor class becomes overpowered, How Lee Hyun becomes something from nothing , how he makes money and more.

CHARACTERS

As I mentioned above Lee Hyun is the protagonist in this manhwa. He is a variety character  . He gives importance only to his sister, grand ma, and  money in his life and he will do anything for it. and also he is a pro gamer. 

He does things that are never imagined by anyone , so he gets many important things by doing that. 

But there are some problems in defining the character. I will talk about it in my overall perspective.

A girl named Seo Yoon is considered to be the female protagonist in this manhwa, she is a very mysterious and powerful character and beautiful.she haven't got any screen time yet,and I think her time will come in the future.

There are a lot of other characters too, like Lee Hyun's sister Yu Rin , and some Co-players in the game . But more than any other characters, the manhwa is focused mainly on Lee Hyun.

 

OVERALL

In my perspective the legendary moonlight sculptor manhwa is very entertaining and fun to read.

In the first volumes of this manhwa the author tried some different art styles, it was very different from the generic Korean art style. But later on, the art style changes and upgrades to the Korean style. The difference between them is huge. But it haven't affected me in enjoying the manhwa.

There are a lot of plot holes it. At the beginning the protagonist is shown as a week , non-competitive fellow, but suddenly he grows in to something else like becoming very successful , competitive , strong willed . And also the 50% interest thing at the beginning was not that acceptable to me.

The author has tried a concept like the anime Sword art Online, but there is something missing from it too. I mean in the gaming thing.

Action scenes are not that impressive , But some panels are very good to see. The goose bump giving factor was missing.

But putting aside all of that, I enjoyed reading it. There was something in it that kept me entertained and they haven't ruined it by mixing it with romance .

If you want to read something easy, entertaining ,with an overpowered main character  you should consider this manhwa.
